Company Profile

What does FluidMasters do?

Machinery operators are well aware that preventative maintenance lowers repair costs plus saves on the downtime involved. FluidMasters’ focus is to supply quality products and services for your equipment that will lower your ongoing running and maintenance costs, boost performance and extend equipment life… "WE GUARANTEE IT".

FluidMasters' machinery fluid management can give equipment owners the reliability, enhanced performance and lower running costs that they need to operate their equipment in this competitive environment. Costs are soaring skywards with the cost of fuel and oil spiraling out of control. Every machinery owner needs a program to maximise the investment they make in their equipment through performance and equipment life plus gaining the lowest possible ongoing costs. This is where FluidMasters have the products and services to help you achieve this goal.

FluidMasters have engaged international industrial chemists to develop their products. Through extensive laboratory testing they have formulated fluid management products that are a vast improvement on existing competitive products in the market place.

In February 1988 these products were introduced to farmers and after achieving outstanding results the company expanded its offerings to other industry groups which include marine and transport. As time has passed and technology improved, ongoing research has seen these products refined and improved to where they are considered by the company to be of the highest performance that current science is able to produce.

Onsite Services

Operators cannot afford the downtime and expense to have their equipment moved to a service centre or workshop for servicing. FluidMasters have developed unique and proprietary servicing equipment in our service van that can "come to you" and service your equipment’s cooling systems, transmissions, gearboxes, differentials and power steering systems conveniently allowing you to have your machines serviced ON SITE.

There are four areas to be looked after and managed. All of these areas need to be attended to as recommended in all manufacturer’s equipment handbooks/manuals.

  • Air System
  • Fuel System
  • Cooling System
  • Oil System

Please go the relevant web page to see more detail on each of the systems and how FluidMasters addresses these.

To whom it may concern,

It was by chance that we became associated with David Ashwell from Agrilube. Most travelers who called at the Farm I would listen to their jargon, then say I'll think about it and get on with my work. David was different. He had something that appealed to me. A range of products that would save on down time, save on oil changes at critical times, and at the same time preserve the machines. Simply, this meant adding an oil additive to a 205ltr drum of oil and missing some oil changes, adding a filter and adding some fluid to the distillate tanks, and as well to the cooling systems.

Our main tractors would do between 500 to 700hrs a season or seeding, which would mean that we would be changing the engine oil two or three times a season. Working them 24 hours a day meant that every thing would have to come to a standstill every so often, bit of a nuisance, to have everyone stopped while the servicing took place. If we could save on down time without loosing our tractors efficiency was very appealing. Our first try was to go out to 400hrs, that is, we would miss an oil change and then change on the second one, as the book 100hrs, we were at first quite nervous.

We had an oil test done, flushed using his flushing concentrate, and drained the oil and filled up with new oil and went the 400hrs, and took another test to see if all was well. The oil that we drained out was better than the previous test.

We monitored the tractors over the years using the additives in the engines and had no problems completing a complete season on the same oil and drain it at the end of the program, changing the oil and having them ready for the next year. We also used the additives in the gearboxes and final drives, taking an oil test at the end of every 12 months then every second year. The recommendation was for every 1000hrs, but ours would go longer than that, sometimes 1400 to 1500hrs without any detrimental effect to the mechanism, and our oil tests were pretty static.

When one of our tractors gearbox had done over 7000hrs, I asked the official service man when should these gearboxes be checked, to which he replied, "every 5000hrs". We had it repaired/overhauled as a precautionary measure, it's bearings and seals were replaced, but the report was that it could have gone on, and done as many hours again as it was still in very good order.

We also use a fuel additive in our fuel. Again a saving on unnecessary downtime during busy periods. This also proved to be good insurance. After using the fuel additive, repairs to fuel pumps and injectors were a thing of the past. One of our tractors was sold after doing over 8600hrs and we hadn't touched the fuel pump or the injectors. The sump covers hadn't been off and the drop boxes and diffs were still original, being checked as in the above paragraph.

Because we had the additives in the oil, radiators and the fuel, it meant that all our Tractors, Trucks, Utes, and small engines were using the same oil, and all benefited by very little fuel system breakdown. The tractors that I have been talking about are:-

  • 4wd 325hp Waltana, 8600hrs,
  • 4wd 325hp Steiger, 13000hrs
  • 4wd 310hp Muller 6500hrs

I hope you find this of interest, as I believe our maintenance bills would have been greater without these additives in our oils fuels and cooling systems, over the 20 years we have been using them. I have also enjoyed the interesting discussions that we have had about maintenance as well as the friendship of an interesting person.

To Agrilube Ltd

I have a Toyota Hilux Diesel Utility, 1981 model LN40. Around the farm it tows augers, trailers, the harvester front, the fuel trailer, and anything else that needs towing. I only have 1600 hectares crop now, but up until the year 2000, we cropped 3500 HA, so the "ute" was used every day, and still is.

We don’t have a motorbike so all the sheep work is done with the "ute". My three Kids learned to drive in it, and the farm workers use it when necessary to go to town etc. I use BP 15W– 40 oil in the engine and BP Gear Oil 90W-140 In the Gearbox and Diff. All our oil is routinely treated with Agrilube Oil Additives at the recommended rate. The "ute" has travelled 446,285 KM and so far the Diff and Gearbox have never been opened. Engine oil is changed every10,000 KM, and the rest every 15,000 KM. The motor was nearly cooked when a fanbelt broke at 236000 KM.

From then it started to use oil, so with a new set of rings it was up and away again. The little "ute" is still going Strong. I’ve heard it said that you can’t get more than 50,000 KM out of a Hilux motor, on a farm. Whether mine is a good one or bad, or whether the additives are doing the work or not, I don’t know, but I continue to use Agrilube Products regardless, so you make up your own mind.

As for the cooling system, we use the Agrilube flush and the Agrilube conditioner on a regular basis with this being changed every 12 months. We have never had a radiator or cooling system problem since we have been using it.

This is only an example of one vehicle on the farm. Everything on the farm that has oil in it has the same oil treated with Agrilube Products. I have Oil Samples tested at every oil change and now run all tractors, harvester, trucks and utes on treble the time for oil changes as per the book, which is 200hrs so we do 600hrs.

We have been using Agrilube Products on the farm for well over 25 years now and expect to continue to use them in the future.
